You know gang activity is petering out when the Captain gives you a job of checking out Urban Legends, apparently.

Or its a sign that R&D is finally getting ahead with something and Captain wants to try it out.

Urban Legend?

[identity profile] isdragonlady.livejournal.com 2010-08-02 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. Criminal fraud reports.

Though... they're sort of ridiculous.

Person complaining about gender change operations happening overnight.

A 13 year old girl complaining she was a grandmother but was changed by water bottles she bought.

Parents saying their MIT ready daughter became a lazy slacker flunking out of her school because of some candles she bought.

You know, the crack pot usual stuff rookies get assigned to.

Maybe you made some enemies in the department.

[identity profile] isdragonlady.livejournal.com 2010-08-02 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know. I've been arresting at a pretty decent rate. I file all my paperwork. I keep my guns, uniform, and bike clean. I do most of the jobs pretty well.

Don't know what I could of done. Never got ribbed on the above that often anyways...

[identity profile] saw-the-sea.livejournal.com 2010-08-02 07:19 am (UTC)(link)
A bit unfortunate about the gangs.

Sakana was never cleaner.

[identity profile] saw-the-sea.livejournal.com 2010-08-02 08:34 am (UTC)(link)
Oh some of the gangs helped clean Sakana after they saw the error of their ways.

You did something, didn't you?

[identity profile] pureplainpatron.livejournal.com 2010-08-02 06:30 am (UTC)(link)
Gang activity is finally petering out? That's good news.

[identity profile] isdragonlady.livejournal.com 2010-08-02 07:24 am (UTC)(link)
Sorta kinda. Haven't seen anything major. It's still going on, but I think it's somewhat burnt out.

Especially if I'm getting punted onto "Urban Legend" duty. Mmm.

[identity profile] pureplainpatron.livejournal.com 2010-08-02 07:26 am (UTC)(link)
To be fair, with spirits, skull servants in particular, crawling around anymore, they probably have a reason to suspect some truth to it. And since you're a spirit... or used to be one, at least... it's only natural to assume you'd have the most knowledge on the subject.

[identity profile] isdragonlady.livejournal.com 2010-08-02 07:35 am (UTC)(link)
I think I'm in a weird Grey line. It seems very "Am spirit and aren't. At the same time. While not."

... I guess.

But some of these don't sound like stuff you'd see on Earth though. And I'm fairly sure humans dislike Skull Servants enough that it couldn't be their doing.

But. Mmm...

[identity profile] pureplainpatron.livejournal.com 2010-08-02 07:39 am (UTC)(link)
All the better for them I think.

Maybe there's a middle man? Thugs who rob the servants, or somehow manage to do business? You have to admit, the potential might warrant investigation.

[identity profile] isdragonlady.livejournal.com 2010-08-02 07:44 am (UTC)(link)
Perhaps. But what would gangs or Yakuza gain out of turning their customers too young or too stupid to pay?

[identity profile] pureplainpatron.livejournal.com 2010-08-02 07:48 am (UTC)(link)
Well, for one, they might insist on cash up front.

For two... maybe they have no idea what they do either.

[identity profile] isdragonlady.livejournal.com 2010-08-02 07:54 am (UTC)(link)
True...

... Then why sell them... Maybe because they are sellable, but that seems stupid. And stupid people get executed by their bosses.

[identity profile] pureplainpatron.livejournal.com 2010-08-02 07:58 am (UTC)(link)
I'd say 'buy low, sell high' but that rather negates the idea they get them from skull servants.

Then again, they might figure that the products cause so much chaos that the buyers either can't remember enough to try and get a refund... or just have no ability to even try.

[identity profile] isdragonlady.livejournal.com 2010-08-02 08:11 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. Especially since the Skull Servants basically brainwashed themselves on... "Star Trek Deep Space Nine", I believe?

... Maybe. Thanks for the thoughts. I should be getting interviews in the next few days.

[identity profile] pureplainpatron.livejournal.com 2010-08-02 08:15 am (UTC)(link)
...never seen.

Sure thing. And good luck.

[identity profile] isdragonlady.livejournal.com 2010-08-02 08:19 am (UTC)(link)
Basically the lower Skull Servants all parroted this race of merchants. I think you see where this goes.

[identity profile] pureplainpatron.livejournal.com 2010-08-02 08:19 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, yeah.
